My Story

Hello there! I’m Joel, a graphic designer based out of the New York Metropolitan Area. I specialize in marketing design, logo design, digital design, and branding. I take a playful and creative approach to solving design challenges, resulting in clever and innovative solutions thanks to my unique perspective.

Throughout my career, I’ve established a strong foundation in marketing design, logo design, and digital design, allowing me to deliver visually compelling solutions that captivate audiences and drive results. My adaptability and collaboration skills have enabled me to excel in both freelance and corporate settings, collaborating closely with clients and teams to bring creative visions to life.

My personal motto is “Solving Problems Through Design” and I try to embody that in all of my work. My mission statement as a designer is to “Solve problems through design in playful ways using my unique perspective.” My ideas and way of thinking are my biggest assets, and something that only I can offer an employer.

I thrive in collaborative environments and believe that the best designs are born through teamwork and open communication. I’m continuously inspired by the ever-evolving design landscape and stay up-to-date with industry trends

My unique perspective is something you want on your team. I’m immensely curious, and I’m always looking into interesting new things to learn more about them. There is so much amazing stuff in this world, and I try to take all of it in, learn from it, and use it as inspiration in my work. I don’t limit myself to categories or topics when brainstorming, I rack my brain for anything in there that I can use or re-purpose for my goal.

As most people get older they slowly lose interest in the things they enjoyed when they were kids as they transition to new and different things. I’m interested in lots of things now that I could’ve cared less about when I was a kid, but I also still hold on to the things I liked when I was younger. Superheroes, comics, video games, fantasy, sci-fi, toys, cartoons, the list could go on and on. Continuing to like and follow all these things has allowed me to maintain the same unbridled imagination I had as a kid. I churn out ideas no matter how implausible, impractical, silly, or punny they are. I don’t discount them as invalid and move on, I seriously consider them. Because even if it ends up not working out, thinking about how I can make it work may lead me to a more feasible idea down the road.

My minor in entrepreneurship as well as my experience working in a startup environment has given me a strategic mindset when it comes to design. Making things look nice is all well and good, but if that isn’t done with a purpose in mind then it’s not design, it’s decoration.
